TEACHING AND MENTORING
My teaching begins with the same questions that shape my own music: how to listen deeply, how sound becomes expression, and how a musician develops a language of their own.
I have taught guitar since 1998 and today work primarily one-to-one in Berlin and online. I do not teach from a fixed curriculum. Each lesson begins with the musician in front of me — their musical background, their questions, and what they want to understand or express.
My own path through European harmony, jazz and improvisation, Turkish makam music and North Indian classical music offers further perspectives whenever they illuminate a musical question.
The aim is not to sound like me. It is to deepen your understanding, craft and freedom until your own musical voice becomes clearer.

MASTERCLASSES
I teach masterclasses and workshops for universities, music colleges and other professional or educational contexts, with subjects ranging from microtonal intonation on the fretted guitar and advanced plectrum technique to improvisation across musical traditions.
Teaching engagements include masterclasses at the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg and BIMM Institute Berlin, as well as teaching at the Conservatory of Turkish Music in Berlin.
ADVANCED GUITAR BOOK
The Advanced Guitar Book grew out of more than three decades of practice, teaching and musical research – a hybrid compendium of 750 PDF pages and more than 230 video lessons, approaching European harmony and improvisation, North Indian classical music and Turkish makam nusic from a guitarist’s perspective.
